Mindi was raised on a farm in a small town east of Lubbock, Texas.  She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in December 1999 from Texas A&M University.

Following graduation, Mindi worked for John Deere Company in Lafayette, LA, Houston, TX, and Oklahoma City, OK, until she returned to school to pursue her law degree.  She graduated with a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in May 2005.

In the fall of 2005, Mindi joined the Wealth Planning & Probate section at Sprouse Shrader Smith P.C. in Amarillo, Texas.  Her practice there included both simple and complex estate planning, business planning, charitable planning, estate and trust administration, the preparation of federal gift and estate tax returns, fiduciary representation, guardianship administration, forming private foundations and public charities, and obtaining and maintaining federal and state tax exempt status for private foundations and public charities.

After a move to Central Texas in 2014, Mindi practiced as a sole practitioner in the areas of wills and trusts, probate and probate alternatives, guardianships, and nonprofit organizations.  In January 2015, Tom Normand and Mindi formed Normand Bozeman Zanowiak, PLLC, which also focuses on the practice areas of wills and trusts, probate and probate alternatives, guardianships, and nonprofit organizations.  In 2015, Mindi was certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning and Probate Law.
